María del Buey Cañas
Madrid, 1996.
I am an artist and researcher working on the creation of speculative spaces - textual, sonic, or visual spaces - from where to imagine new spatial agencies, or orientation techniques.
As a foreign and displaced element to different urban landscapes, my art practice attempts to go unnoticed within them but arising some suspects or loans based on its experience. My work is based on the belief that the space - urban space, academic space, affect space - is the basic condition to any kind of agency - social agency, artistic agency, political agency.
I usually work through writing and sound recording, and these are also the main means for my research, that I sometimes combine with installations and performances.
